GC Fuji IX GP Extra is a radiopaque posterior glass ionomer restorative supplied in capsules. It is a high-strength, fast-setting glass ionomer formulated with a unique SmartGlass filler that offers improved translucency for a more aesthetic restoration. The material chemically bonds to tooth structure, allowing minimal cavity preparation without the need for etching or bonding agents. Its chemical setting occurs without shrinkage, enabling single-step placement without layering, while its thermal expansion closely matches natural tooth structure, producing minimal stress on the marginal seal. The strontium-based glass provides good radiopacity along with the snap-set characteristics widely preferred by clinicians, and its strontium-based, fluoride-releasing formulation supports internal remineralization within tooth structure while increasing surface strength over time. With high compressive and flexural strength and 60% higher wear resistance than conventional glass ionomers, GC Fuji IX GP Extra is strong enough for use in posterior teeth, while pre-measured powder and liquid ratios and mechanical mixing deliver a faster, easier, and more consistent placement with fewer porosities.
