Dental · Sterilization
The Waldent UPD-14 is a compact chairside dry heat sterilizer designed for dental clinics, endodontic practices, and medical facilities that need to process small metal instruments rapidly between procedures. By using high temperature dry heat instead of steam, the unit helps reduce moisture related corrosion while supporting efficient workflow. Its PID controlled heating system, four preset modes, and LCD readiness alert make it practical to integrate into daily clinical sterilization protocols.
Maintains stable operating temperatures for consistent dry heat performance across every use.
Dedicated timed programs for mouth mirrors, burs, endodontic files, and general instruments.
Small countertop footprint fits dental clinics, treatment rooms, and laboratory workspaces.
LCD display and audible alert indicate when the unit reaches operating temperature and is ready for use.
Designed to improve operator safety while keeping the exterior temperature stable during operation.
Reduces energy consumption during idle periods without requiring the unit to be switched off between procedures.

Practice settings
A glass bead sterilizer complements, rather than replaces, a full autoclave program. Confirm its suitability for your instruments and protocols with your infection control officer.
Never add water or any liquid to the heating chamber. This unit operates entirely on dry heat.
Allow the unit to reach room temperature before cleaning or maintenance.
Do not insert plastic or heat sensitive components. The chamber reaches up to 240°C.
Clean the glass beads approximately every two weeks. Replace them every three months or as the manufacturer recommends.
Remove debris from the chamber and keep it clean between sessions.
Instruments are extremely hot after processing. Use appropriate forceps or handling tools.
Store in a clean, dry environment when not in use.
Operate according to the manufacturer’s instructions and applicable infection control protocols.
Read before use: the chamber and instruments reach temperatures up to 240°C. This page is for product information only and is not clinical guidance. The UPD-14 must be operated by trained dental or medical professionals in line with the manufacturer’s instructions for use and all applicable local infection control regulations.
An electric heating element warms a stainless steel chamber filled with glass beads. The PID controlled system holds the temperature steady so the heated beads transfer dry heat directly to the working ends of compatible metal instruments.

Four timed programs remove the guesswork from chairside sterilization. Select the mode for your instrument type and the unit handles the rest.
