Product Information

The orabite jaw stretcher is a mechanical jaw-mobility and rehabilitation device that helps users slowly and safely increase how wide they can open their mouth. Built from biocompatible, medical-grade plastic, the dental jaw stretcher follows the natural anatomical path of the jaw so stretching feels intuitive rather than forced, while its fine-adjustment control limits the risk of overextension. Lightweight and supplied with a carry bag and range-of-motion scales, it suits home-based jaw exercises under professional guidance.

  3. Adjustable positioning: this mouth care equipment has a fine-adjustment knob to match each user's opening capacity.

  5. Built-in measurement: scales for both vertical and lateral jaw movement.
  6. Release-at-any-time lever: end a stretch instantly for comfort and safety.

How to Use

Get the most from this dental jaw opener by learning its two parts—the bite-pad protection system and the fine-adjustment mechanism. Set up the jaw stretcher device like this:

  1. Attach bite pads — peel the backing and press one pad onto each mouthpiece. For better adhesion, attach the bite pads in advance. Pressure and warmth help improve their grip over time. Replace worn pads, and make sure they're secure—loose pads can obstruct breathing.
  2. Position the device — with the lever raised, place the mouthpieces between your teeth inside the lips, front teeth against the upper mouthpiece's inner rim, and the device aligned toward your nose.
  3. Set the knob—turn the knob anticlockwise to lock the lever at the top; turn it clockwise while gently squeezing to allow slow downward movement. The lever can be released at any time without readjusting the fine-adjustment knob.
  4. Stretch — gently squeeze the lever to move the lower mouthpiece down, following the natural jaw path. Release anytime by relaxing your hand.
  5. Record — take a reading at the start and end of each session (see Tracking Progress).

Where It's Used

Jaw-mobility exercises and stretching routines to reduce stiffness around the jaw joint and work toward opening milestones set by a clinician. The orabite jaw stretcher is used for home-based rehabilitation and for tracking progress over days and weeks, under professional guidance.

Tracking Progress (Range-of-Motion Scale)

The included range-of-motion (ROM) scales help monitor changes in jaw mobility over time, making it easier to track rehabilitation progress throughout the exercise program.

Use the ROM scales to measure progress objectively:

  1. Maximum opening: open as wide as comfortable, rest the scale notch on a lower incisor, rotate until it touches an upper incisor, and read at the contact point.
  2. Lateral movement: with teeth gently closed, place the scale on the lower incisors, align the arrow with the gap between the upper teeth, move side to side, and read.

Record each result in the progress log.

Daily Routine (5–5–30 Method)

A common plan with the orabite jaw stretcher is the 5–5–30 method: 5 sessions a day, 5 stretches per session, each a 30-second hold followed by 30 seconds of relaxation. Once normal opening is achieved over several months, your clinician may reduce this to 2 sessions a day.

Handling & Safety

  1. Rinse the main unit under running water after use, shake off excess, and air-dry.
  2. Keep the device aligned toward your nose so the force spreads evenly across the jaw.
  3. Store it in the carry bag, away from dust, when not in use.
  4. ROM scales are disposable — don't wash and reuse soiled scales.
  5. Personal use only; don't share, to prevent cross-contamination.
  6. Ensure the bite pads are securely attached before every use, as loose pads may present a choking or breathing hazard.
