Compact and Lightweight Latest Design with Elegant Handle
Overview:
Therapeutic ultrasound refers to any ultrasonic procedure that utilizes ultrasound for therapeutic benefits. The ultrasound is applied using a transducer or applicator that comes into direct contact with the patient’s skin. A gel is applied to all surfaces of the head to reduce friction and facilitate the transmission of ultrasonic waves. Therapeutic ultrasound in physical therapy involves the alternating compression and rarefaction of sound waves with a frequency range of 0.7 to 3.3 MHz. Maximum energy absorption in soft tissue occurs at depths of 2 to 5 cm, with intensity decreasing as the waves penetrate deeper, primarily absorbed by connective tissues such as ligaments, tendons, fascia, and scar tissue.
Conditions Treated:
Ultrasound therapy may be used to treat a variety of conditions, including:
- Ligament sprains
- Muscle strains
- Tendonitis
- Joint inflammation
- Plantar fasciitis
- Metatarsalgia
- Facet irritation
- Impingement syndrome
- Bursitis
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Osteoarthritis
- Scar tissue adhesion
Applications of Therapeutic Ultrasound:
Therapeutic ultrasound provides deep heat treatment that can:
- Promote relaxation
- Reduce swelling and inflammation
- Enhance protein synthesis within cells
- Facilitate lymphatic drainage and reduce cellulite
- Regenerate injured tissues – Accelerate cellular metabolism

Ultrasound Modes Description:
- Continuous (CONT.): In Continuous mode, the ultrasound wave is delivered continuously at a set intensity through the probe. This mode generates thermal effects by stimulating tissue regeneration, altering cell membrane permeability, and increasing intracellular calcium levels.
- Pulsed (PUL.): In Pulsed mode, ultrasound is delivered in short bursts over a designated period. This primarily produces non-thermal effects that increase tissue metabolism, enhance fibrous tissue extensibility, and alleviate pain.
- Pulsed A: The display shows the number of pulses per second: 1, 10, 50, or 100, corresponding to 1 pulse/second, 10 pulses/second, 50 pulses/second, and 100 pulses/second, respectively.
- Pulsed B: The display indicates the duration of the pulse period: 1.1, 1.2, 1.5, 1.7, and 1.9 correspond to 1:1 (50ms on/50ms off), 1:2 (33ms on/66ms off), and so on.
- Wave: In Wave mode, ultrasound is delivered continuously, but the intensity varies between the selected intensity and a minimum of 0.5 W/cm². For this mode to function effectively, the lowest intensity must be set at 0.6 W/cm². For example, if the set intensity is 1.5 W/cm², it will decrease to 0.5 W/cm² for a specified duration and then increase back to 1.5 W/cm² within the set period. This fluctuation can be observed on the Wave Mode Display.
